The Wire, New York, 2005-2008

2007 - 2009

One of five books included in the first edition of Fair Use (notes from spam)

Narrow Gauge is largely a collection of text-based spam e-mails (minus headers and formatting and set in the style of the rest of the book) interspersed with embedded fragments of other texts. In the middle of the book is a short four page essay on the subjective experience of filtering spam over the course of a few moments in a Brooklyn coffee shop. Fragments from drafts of the essay are dispersed within the flow of sam that surrounds it. The front and back inside covers are based on an ongoing blog that combines recent spam with computer drawn imagery.
